Kate Wolf had a great affinity for the California coast, and she frequently performed in Mendocino County venues in the middle years of her career. With Nina Gerber's help, we sifted through 15 hours of soundboard recordings, resulting in 20 remastered tracks that we feel beautifully represent Kate. We’re particularly delighted about the inclusion of three previously unreleased Kate Wolf songs.

Mendocino CD Arrival!

CDs Have Arrived
We just received boxes and boxes of the new Kate Wolf Live In Mendocino album. It’s great to see all 20 tracks listed on the disc, and the booklet is huge: we needed 32 pages to hold all those lyrics and photos. The “Groovy” album shirts are ready too, and we’re packing everything up to send to the folks that are going to mail it all to backers in July.
Album Release At The Kate Wolf Festival
The first day of the 23rd annual Kate Wolf Music Festival is Thursday, and we’ll be celebrating the album’s release there. Quite appropriately, this happens in Mendocino County! We’re looking forward to seeing Kate’s fans and friends and sharing new music with them.

Survey Reminder
Thanks to the 90% of backers who have submitted the survey! We’re excited to see all the names and places flowing in. If you have not yet received the survey email from BackerKit, send us a message via Kickstarter or [email protected] and we’ll get you sorted out. We’re hoping to receive all surveys by June 10th.
We’re In Production
Artwork and audio mastering are complete and everything is off to the duplicators. We’ll receive fresh boxes of Live In Mendocino just in time for its official release at the 23rd annual Kate Wolf Music Festival in late June. And because backers reached all our stretch goals, the album will be 20 tracks!

While you’re all waiting for rewards to arrive in July, we thought you might enjoy hearing one of the songs that did not make it onto the album. Compact discs hold only so much music, and alas, I Never Knew My Father didn’t quite fit. We’ll send a backers-only update with the song for your listening enjoyment.

Kickstarter processed your payments and now it's survey time. We're gathering the necessary information via BackerKit, a tool that'll ask you to enter your shipping address plus details about any add-ons you might like. You can even change your reward level. If your original Kickstarter pledge amount doesn't cover any optional items you add during the survey process, BackerKit will automatically prompt for funds.
Note to backers who chose "No Reward". The survey is optional. If you change your mind and want an album, sticker or shirt (or anything else on our BackerKit page), respond to the survey and select the item(s) you want.

Mendocino Concert Poster
In addition to recording Kate’s shows and photographing her, Nicholas Wilson also helped promote her Mendocino concerts. He recently uncovered an original poster for two of the shows that appear on Live In Mendocino, and we thought everyone would like to see it.
Kate and poet Luke Breit shared the two evenings, swapping songs and poems. At another show, Kate set one of his poems to music and performed it for him.

Kate Wolf’s family extends our heartfelt thanks to all the backers who pledged to bring her new Live In Mendocino album to life. We couldn’t have done it without you and Kate’s fans and supporters. A special shoutout to Nick Wilson, the photographer and sound engineer who provided the recordings and images from his archives. With 20 tracks, the album will burst at its seams with a runtime over 75 minutes. That’s a lot of Kate music...wonderful!
